Etherios Launches The Social Machine on Salesforce AppExchange

Etherios, a Digi International (News - Alert) division, recently launched The Social Machine on the Salesforce AppExchange, which will help businesses to connect with customers, partners and employees more conveniently.


The Social Machine is a cloud-based platform, which is capable of synergizing widely deployed products into core business processes leveraging the Salesforce Platform. The Social Machine will convert product data into actionable business information.  

Leyla Seka, vice president AppExchange and Partner Operations, Salesforce.com (News - Alert) said, “Salesforce.com is focused on delivering innovative solutions for customers on their journey to becoming a customer company.”

“A key component of that journey is the ability to connect customers with products in entirely new ways. We are excited that Etherios is delivering this groundbreaking solution to help companies create deeper connections with their customers,” Seka added.

The Social Machine is built on the Salesforce Platform, a cloud platform for social and mobile business apps and is available on the AppExchange website, said officials.

The solution empowers products which can automatically inform a support organization when snags arise. Using data analytics, customer service personnel can proactively eliminate problems with such information.

Product data is made available to the entire organization by The Social Machine, which can be leveraged by the research and development team to create and enhance capabilities of future products. Very high product use will send notifications to the sales team, creating up-sell and cross-sell opportunities.

The Social Machine provides a voice to products; organizations can listen to their connected products and optimize internal collaboration, connect optimally with their customers and in the process increase efficiency and productivity.

In related company news, Digi International acquired Chicago-based Etherios, a Salesforce.com Platinum Partner and creator of The Social Machine, in November 2012.
